The primary law enforcement agency in Delaware is the Delaware State Police (DSP), which handles highway patrol, criminal investigations, and statewide emergency response. DSP is a part of the states Department of Safety & Homeland Security. Delaware's Department of Safety & Homeland Security also includes the Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Enforcement (DATE), and Capitol Police.
